Portfolio reviewing
2003
Portfolio review is organized every year by Fotofo as an accompanying event of International Festival of Photography named „Bratislava Month of Photography”. This year, for the fifth time, the organizers have the idea to bring young, professionally beginning photographers to this project in international context. After the last successful years, except Slovak authors there also took part majority of photographers from 15 different countries. Some important personalities from „photography world“ (gallery directors, important photography magazines editors, photography festival representatives, exhibition curators) will judge the portfolios (albums of author photographs) of European photographers; 8th NOVEMBER and 9th NOVEMBER 2003. Young authors will have a chance to show and present their work to personalities who could offer them a space for presentation in international magazines or galleries. We are expecting participation about 100 photographers from Europe. In the jury the following personalities /among others/ will take a part: Evgenij Berezner and Irina Tchmyreva (ROSIZO, Russia), Rhonda Wilson (Seeing the light, Birmingham, England), Lucia Lendelova (IMAGO, Slovak Republik), Andreas Muller-Pohle (European Photography, Germany) and others special guests.
The winner of Portfolio review 2003 will have an opportunity to arrange his/her own exhibition at the 14th Bratislava Month of Photography in 2004 and PhotoEspana Madrid 2004.

Portfolio review 2003, Bratislava Month of Photography portfolio review program for photographers, is one of the festival’s most important and popular programs. The two days Portfolio review presents an unforgettable opportunity for artists using photography to have their work seen by some of the most important people in the field of photography. The Bratislava Month of Photography brings photography professionals – magazine editors, museum curators, gallery owners, representatives of photography agencies, collectors and publishers – from around the world to meet with photographers and review their work.
Reviewers at this year’s event include representatives from Gallery Image, Denmark; Prague House of Photography, Czech Republic; Camera Austria, Germany; ROSIZO, Russia; European Photography, Germany and other special guests.
LOCATION
Location information will be sent to confirmed registrants. Portfolio review registrants will be invited to opening festivities, exhibition receptions and other activities. In addition to the formal portfolio reviews, there is plenty of time for informal networking and meetings with other photographers.
Upon arrival and registration, registrants will be provided with a complimentary copy of our Reviewer Bio Booklet to assist them in becoming familiar with participating reviewers.

Please be aware that reservations for the Portfolio Review 2003 are limited to 60 spaces only!

Registration fees for the two days event are 45 USD or 45 EU.
FOTOFO SLOVAKIA INVITES YOU TO PORTFOLIO REVIEWING 2003.
Portfolio Reviewing is a meeting of young photographers with top critics in the field of photography. It will be held on 8th November and 9th November 2003 in Bratislava. Up to 15 reviewers from various countries will take part at this event.
Portfolio Reviewing 2003 focuses on both art and documentary photography. The aim of the project is to bring people from all over Europe to share their work with competent and experienced critics in the field of photography. You are invited to present your portfolio and discuss it with the critics.
If you decide to participate
- you will be able to discuss your portfolio with most of reviewers at the workshop
- you will make new contact with professionals working in field of photography (international galleries and international magazines) and they can give you a hand and help you to develop your career in the future
- you will have the chance to be awarded as the best portfolio and have chance to exhibit your works at the next Bratislava Month of photography in 2004 and at PhotoEspana Madrid 2004.
SUPPLEMENTS
Registrants should be aware that review sessions are limited to 20 minutes. The number and format of prints is unlimited, but Reviewers expect to see only your best, finished work or series.

Slovakia organizes PORTFOLIO REVIEWING ´99. Portfolio
Reviewing is meeting of young photographers with top critics in the field of
photography. It will be held on 4th and 5th of
November 1999 in Bratislava. Up to 24 reviewers from various countries will
take part in this event The aim of the
project is to bring people from all over europe to share their work with
competent & experienced critcs in the field of photography. They are invited
to come and present their portfolios. Participating critics will creatively
react to their work. Portfolio reviewing 99 is aimed on both art and
documentary photography. The best awarded participant will have chance to
present his or her works on the exhibition at the Month of Photography 2000.
