ABOUT THE MONTH OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Month of Photography is organized by FOTOFO Foundation in Bratislava, non-profit institution founded public and private support.
The first edition of the festival was held in 1991 and every year the Month of Photography  presents around 40 exhibitions of the artists from different contries all over the world.
The festival programme lays stress on a systematic presentation in the domain of photography in Central and Eastern Europe.
Bratislava has thus come to be an important meeting place of photographers from East and West.
The exhibiton sites are not solely galleries and museums, but also free places and ground with the aim to achieve the closest possible contact with the viewer.
Forming part of the festival is a whole of accompanying events – workshops, portfolio, conferences, review of films about photography – that make the Month of Photography attractive not only for the professional, but likewise the lay public.
